Sometimes, after an argument in which the other person was clearly at fault, do you end up feeling sad and guilty.? “Did I say too much? Was I too loud? Shit, I have hurt that person. I should call and apologize. I feel terrible now. I should text a big sorry message at least.” This is what happens with you? You are different. Yes, you feel too much. You care too much. You worry too much. People would say you are an over thinker, you are way too kind and loving to people around you. But you know what? - You are an idiot as well. You can't keep taking care of others without taking care of yourself. People have used you, they have said the sweet things and then left you bitter in your heart. There would have been times when you have done so much for others, but they left you with an excuse when you needed them. You have always been helping others, but you have felt helpless when you were down in life.
And it's not just you, there are a whole lot of people in this universe like you, even I'm one of them, and I know if you are one of my kind, your soul is nodding in yes. I know your heart is whispering a yes too. I know that you have always known this. You have tried to become a cold, selfish person. But you failed miserably. And you stopped that act of being selfish and rude because you felt that you are becoming a bad person. I failed too.
What I've realised is , we should not change out of anger. We don't have to become them. But accept the realities of life. Have a kind heart, but choose when to be kind. Choose whom to help and how much. Choose when it becomes too heavy and toxic for you. Choose when to walk away from people who talk to you only when they need you. Choose your health, your mental wellbeing, your peace, and your happiness. Choose self-respect. Choose the truth that you can say no to people and still be an amazingly kind person. Choose to say yes to self-love. Choose. Choose because you are not stupid. It's hard, but worth giving a try!
